The 23rd Summer Deaflympics commenced today in Samsun, Turkey and there will be deaf athletes from Great Britain and Ireland participating in different sports including Men’s football, Ladies football, golf, swimming, athletics, tennis and much more. The athletes will be looking to bring medals home. Unfortunately for the first time since the 1970s, there will be no athletes from Northern Ireland participating at the Deaflympics. This event will end on 30th July 2017.
